Stir Ye Girls is a new folk trio, based in NW England. They are Mary Dunsford – harp, Bev Whelan – flute and Carolyn Francis – fiddle. The trio play and sing traditional music of Britain and Ireland, including their own compositions and rare Cumbrian tunes.

Stir Ye Girls play the Run Ashore set at Brecon Cathedral

Here we are playing one of our favourite sets of tunes in the majestic surroundings of Brecon Cathedral. The Run Ashore was written by Carolyn in honour of her dad, and the other two tunes – The Swallows Tail and The Curlew – are Irish traditional reels. Thanks massively to Duncan Finlay for making this video!
