We have three concerts for you in Spring 2020

Phil Cunningham and Aly Bain 12th March 2020 in the Coronation Hall 7.30 pm Tickets: £16

Phil and Aly – masters of Scots fiddle and accordion we’ve had so many great comments after their concert last year we’ve asked them back for a re-run!! Both with a stream of accolades for their
many TV documentaries, Transatlantic sessions hosting, live work over long careers with many top level bands, honorary doctorates and a pair of MBE’s for their services to traditional music. Simply the best and along with all that expertise a totally hilarious and entertaining time is always a sure thing in their company.

The Hero Light – Dominic Kelly 22nd March 2020
Coronation Hall Supper Room. Tickets £12.

Dominic Kelly is one of our very top national storytellers who has brought us two amazing shows to the festival over the past years.
The Hero Light is a unique and remarkable retelling of the extraordinary tales of the Ulster Cycle – the ‘Irish Iliad’. Centred on legendary hero Cú Chulainn, the Hound, it weaves together stories of loyalty, love and betrayal that are still startlingly relevant today.
Dominic Kelly balances irreverent humour & beautiful imagery with a powerful rendition of a deeply affecting tale. The Hero Light brings an ancient epic to crackling contemporary life.

Mairearad Green and Anna Massey 7.30 pm Friday 24th April
The Laurel and Hardy Museum (Brogden Street)

Two of Scotland’s most revered multi-instrumentalists. Their pairing combines Mairearad’s deft and lyrical accordion style, as well as her masterful piping, with Anna’s unparalleled versatility on guitar, fiddle and banjo. After over twelve years playing together, in the last few years, both have introduced songs to their live set, demonstrating the pair’s seemingly infinite abilities as musicians, but also the symbiotic synergy of performing together.
