7.00 pm. Tune Writing Competition. The Kings Arms, King St. Ulverston.

Thursday 12th July 

8.00 pm. Pre-Festival Warm up session in the Hope and Anchor, Daltongate. Bring instruments, songs, tunes or just come along – free event, donations accepted

Friday 13th July

8pm Friday Gathering Coronation Hall £12/£10

A party night for all featuring Furness Tradition Community Band and performances from locals and festival guests – including Chris Meredith and James Taylor, Eskrigg, Ian Douglas and Mark Borthwick. Plus the winner of the tune writing competition  – setting the scene for the weekend.

10.30 pm. Late Night Fireside Stories. Hope and Anchor Beer Garden – free event, donations accepted

Stories around the fire with Ian Douglas and Mark Borthwick.

Saturday 14th July

9.00 am. Furness Tradition Craft Fair Coronation Hall – free admission

9.45am Grand Opening Parade proceeds from Coronation Hall to the Market Cross. Lead by Cumbria Gaita Band.

10.00am – 2.30pm. Tom Bradley Stage at the Market Cross. Dance displays and Live Music  free event, donations accepted

  • 10.40-11.20 Weirdstring Band
  • 11.20-11.50 Dance display with Ripon City Morris Dancers and Betty Lupton’s Ladle Laikers

  • 1.40-3.30 Dance display featuring Crook Morris and Belfagan Womens Morris followed by all the dance sides.

12noon Afternoon Acoustic Concert featuring the Rachel Hamer Band, Bernard Wrigley, Jenn Butterworth and Laura-Beth Salter, James Taylor & Chris Meredith, Leif Ottosson and Bridget Marsden. Coronation Hall Supper Room £12/£10

3.00 pm Weird Raving Stoosh. Weird String Raving Rock and Stooshie will continue with a session in the Hope and Anchor Garden area

3.30 pm. Premiere of “The Big Blind”. Dominic Kelly, Bridget Marsden & Leif Ottosson combine storytelling and music into a playful and gripping performance. Coronation Hall Supper Room £12/£8 

They bring to life an ancient full-bloodied fairy tale for modern audiences, weaving versions from Norway, Scotland, Ireland and India with contemporary Scandinavian folk music.

7.30 pm. Big Merry Neet featuring the Rachel Hamer Band, Bernard Wrigley, Jenn Butterworth and Laura-Beth Salter, Dominic Kelly, James Taylor & Chris Meredith, Ian Douglas, Leif Ottosson and Bridget Marsden. Dancing to Tumbling Tom Big Band and caller Martyn Harvey. Coronation Hall – £16/£12 

This is where dance, music, song and stories all come together on three stages. All of the festival in one place for one big party.

Newcomers to Lakeland Music. Learn a local tune or two with Mike Willoughby. Hope and Anchor £5.
Storytelling Forum. Discussion on storytelling – Dominic Kelly, Ian Douglas and Mark Borthwick. Natterjacks £5.

10.30 am. Dance Display outside Coronation Hall – free event, donations accepted

1.30 pm. Farewell Session in the Hope and Anchor – free event, donations accepted
