Furness Tradition Concert Programme
We have an exciting concert programme lined up for you in the coming months.
2019 kicks off with Weird Raving Stooshie – an evening of contemporary Cumbrian music featuring Mike Willoughby’s Raving Rock, Stooshie and the Weirdstring Band in the Coronation Hall on Friday February 15 at 7.30 pm. Tickets are available from the Coronation Hall Box Office, tel 01229 587140 or online.
In March we have the legendary Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham in the Coronation Hall. Tickets are already selling for this event. They play on Friday March 15. Tickets are available from the Coronation Hall Box Office, tel 01229 587140 or online
We are delighted to have Lady Maisery in May. Hazel Askew, Hannah James and Rowan Rheingans have all played at Furness Tradition previously, but never together. They bring a unique approach to harmony singing, with intelligent and thoughtful arrangements of both traditional repertoire and original compositions.Put the date in your diary – Tuesday May 14 at 8 pm. Tickets are available from the Coronation Hall Box Office, tel 01229 587140 or online.
Three days later we have an evening of music hall madness featuring Cosmotheka, supported by Ian Douglas and Gary Bridgens in the Laurel and Hardy Museum.
Cosmotheka are Dave and Dan Sealey along with pianist Adam Barry. They are considered to be the finest performers of music hall song, singing in folk clubs, festivals, pubs and village halls which they feel are as near as you can get to the original music hall atmosphere. The Laurel and Hardy museum is an ideal venue for this concert.
Storyteller Ian Douglas and showman Gary Bridgens will be an excellent complement to the event on Friday May 17.
We shall post more information on each event nearer the time, so keep an eye on this website www.furnesstradition.org uk, and our Facebook page.
