Thursday 6th July, Pre-Festival Events

7.00 pm. Cumbria Songs and Stories with Steve Wharton at Natterjacks, Queen Street. £4.00

8.00 pm. Pre-Festival Warm up session in the Hope and Anchor, Daltongate. Bring instruments, songs, tunes or just come along – free event

Friday 7th July

8pm Friday Gathering Coronation Hall £12/£10

A party night for all featuring Furness Tradition Community Band and performances from locals and festival guests – including Steve Wharton, Ian Douglas, Peter and Barbara Snape, and Dougie Mackay – setting the scene for the weekend.

Saturday 8th July

9.00 am. Furness Tradition Coffee Morning and Craft Fair Coronation Hall – free admission

Exhibition of prints by Katherine Soutar Caddick in the Ante Room, Coronation Hall – free admission

9.45am Grand Opening Parade proceeds from Coronation Hall to the Market Cross. Lead by Cumbria Gaita Band.

10.00am – 2.30pm.Tom Bradley Stage at the Market Cross. Dance displays and Live Music  free event

Song session led by Sandra and Steve Harrison – Hope and Anchor, Daltongate

3.00 pm. Family Farren, Weird String and Striding Edge will continue with a session in the Hope and Anchor Beer Garden area – Freeform Cumbrian Roots for those who will! – free event

3.30 pm. Tales From the Wild Edge. Coronation Hall Supper Room £12/£10

With Dougie Mackay. Meet wolves, witches & wee folk seldom glimpsed. Go feral for a while: let our senses sharpen and howl with delight as a wild yearning is satisfied.

5.30 pm. Painting The Tales. Ante Room, Coronation Hall £5.00

Talk and discussion about illustrating stories with Katharine Soutar Caddick.

7.30 pm. Big Merry Neet. Coronation Hall – £17/£12

Featuring festival artists, Tumbling Tom Big Band and callers. This is where dance, music, song and stories all come together on three stages. All of the festival in one place for one big party.

10.30 pm. Late Night Fireside Stories. Hope and Anchor Beer Garden – free event

Stories around the fire with Ian Douglas, Dougie Mackay and Mark Borthwick.

Sunday 9 July

10.00 am. Workshops :-

Nykelharpa. Find out about this fascinating instrument with Vicky Swann. Coronation Hall £5.
Storytelling Forum. Stories and discussion – Ian Douglas, Dougie Mackay, Katherine Soutar- Caddick, Mark Borthwick. Coronation Hall  £5.

10.30 am. Dancers outside Coronation Hall – free event

12 noon. Light buffet lunch available

1.30 pm. Farewell Concert Coronation Hall – £12/£10

A great way to round off the weekend featuring festival guests.
